Privacy Policy

This policy explains what [Company legal name] (“CropWater”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use this website or the CropWater application, and how it’s handled.

What We Collect

Account information

Name, email address and password (stored securely, never in plain text) when you register.

Farm & field data

Field boundaries, crop and soil configuration, and readings from any soil moisture probes or weather stations you connect. This data belongs to you.

Device & usage data

Standard technical data such as browser type, device type and pages visited, used to keep the Service secure and working.

Cookies

See our Cookie Policy for the cookies this site uses.

How We Use Your Information

To provide the Service — producing your irrigation schedule or dryland yield estimate, running your account and, where relevant, giving a consultant access you’ve invited — and to keep the Service secure and reliable.

Who We Share Data With

We share data with third-party providers only where the Service needs them to function — for example, weather and satellite data providers, and hosting infrastructure. We do not sell your farm data.

How Long We Keep Your Data

For as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as needed to meet legal or operational requirements.

Your Rights

Deleting your account

You can request account and data deletion at any time by contacting us.

Accessing your data

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Depending on where you’re located, [applicable data protection law] may give you additional rights over your data.

Security & Authentication

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing, and access to farm and field data is scoped to your account and anyone you’ve explicitly invited.

Children

CropWater is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, we’ll note it on this page.
